Farmers unveil underwear results from ‘Soil Your Undies Challenge’

Sussex County farmers have pulled out their dirty underwear from the ground after leaving them in their for a month as part of the ‘Soil Your Undies Challenge’. 

The underwear is completely shredded into pieces, which is good news, because that means the soil is healthy, as the soil’s earth worms and microbes broke down the cotton.

The whole point of the challenge was to see if farmers had healthy soil and if you think you’re lacking that, Jay Baxter from Baxter Farms has some pointers for you. “Try to keep your disturbance at a minimum, keep your soil healthy, keep it irrigated, try to stay off of it as far as compaction is concerned,” Baxter says.
